In his Op-Ed
What Derrida Really Meant, Mark C. Taylor writes, "In a manner reminiscent of Freud, Mr. Derrida insists that what is repressed does not disappear but always returns to unsettle every construction, no matter how secure it seems." Invoking Freud is hardly a recommendation to me. It's nearly as bad as invoking one of the Marxists or Jesus. As far as I'm concerned, their thinking has either been discredited, or only shows what most people believe at a certain time.
