The winner of the contest for Illinois' Supreme Court 5th Judicial District seat between Democrat Judge Gordon Maag from Glen Carbon (St. Clair County) and Republican Judge Lloyd Karmeier from Nashville (Washington County) could determine whether the court remains solidly in Democratic hands or emerges a more party-balanced panel.And someplace I thought I saw a note that Karmeier's election could shift the agenda of the state government.
Currently, five Democratic Supreme Court justices serve on the court with two Republicans -- Rita Garman and Bob Thomas. If Maag wins on November 2, the vote will remain solidly Democrat. If Karmeier wins, the Democrats would still maintain control, but the division would be four to three.

Where are Karmeier's ads?
Respublica links to an article on the Karmeier-Maag race. I've noticed a bunch of TV ads from Maag, striking a positiont in favor of tort reform. Where are Karmeier's ads? According to The Illinois Leader, the Illinois Supreme court is not "balanced":
